Terrific Term 1
We have enjoyed a very busy and productive Term 1 at Lord Howe Island Central School. Our kids are doing great things, and it has been so nice to watch everyone hard at work and enjoying school, as well as for me personally to get to know everyone and feel part of the community.
Wonderful Writers
Amongst all the amazing work our staff and children do each day, K/1/2 have worked particularly hard on becoming the best writers they can be! Mrs Tofaeono takes the class each day (Monday to Thursday) straight after recess, with the students learning about all sorts of different ways to make their writing more interesting, such as using similes. Who knows, perhaps we have the next J.K Rowling in our midst?!
Egg-cellent Easter
With Easter falling during the term this year, we took the opportunity to enjoy a range of experiences, both in work and play, to make Easter egg-stra special!
From egg hunts to art and craft, and even to Easter-themed reading, writing, and maths activities, everyone got in on the action! It’s a special time of the year and we hope you enjoyed the time as much as we all did!
End of Term Assembly
In the last week of term, we celebrated everything great about our school at the end of term assembly!
K-2 were a real hit when they performed the “Three Little Pigs Rap” and some of our older students shared some of their wonderful writing. It was also lovely to be able to recognise some very special kids for their efforts and results across the term. Well done to all!
We hope you have a great break with family and friends, and we’ll see students back at school on Tuesday 30th April.
Joke of the Month
I told these ones at our end of term assembly to a few laughs, polite applause, and even more groans….
Have you heard about the new restaurant on the moon?
Great food, no atmosphere!
I used to be indecisive. Now I’m not so sure.
Last thought
