Liam Murphy joined the Lord Howe Island Board (LHIB) in November, 2023, as a Ranger, hailing from Port Macquarie.
He is interested in ecology, with a focus on birds and biogeography. Liam has a background in threatened species research and monitoring, wildlife management, pest animal control, and ecological consulting- and has been putting this broad knowledge to work in the LHIB Environment team.
He previously worked mostly in the Hunter, Greater Blue Mountains and Mid-Western regions, including as a Research Officer for the Australian National University’s Regent Honeyeater Monitoring Program.
Liam looks forward to getting to know the LHI community and helping conserve the Island’s natural and social values.
If you see him around, say hi!
