“Love Lord Howe” wins Gold at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards!

Excellence in Food Tourism

Danielle and Alasdair Nicolson proudly represented “Love Lord Howe” at the esteemed Qantas Australian Tourism Awards held in Darwin on 15th March, 2024. Following a win in the ‘Excellence in Food Tourism’ category at the NSW Tourism Awards, “Love Lord Howe” secured a coveted spot at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, pitting it against top contenders from each state and territory.

Gold award

With 26 prestigious categories in the line-up, “Love Lord Howe” stood out as one of only three NSW Tourism businesses to clinch Gold, marking a momentous achievement for such a small business. The competition was fierce, with renowned names in the food tourism sector such as The Truffle Farm in Tasmania claiming Silver, and Adelaide Showground Farmers Market earning the Bronze. Beyond the accolades, “Love Lord Howe” remains committed to promoting tourism to Lord Howe Island. “Love Lord Howe” hopes this achievement will not only drive increased Island picnic, wedding and event bookings but also shine a spotlight on our beautiful island, encouraging travellers to consider it for their next holiday.

Heartfelt gratitude

Danielle extends her heartfelt gratitude to the community for their unwavering support throughout “Love Lord Howe’s” journey. She also seizes this opportunity to encourage fellow Island tourism businesses to participate in the upcoming 2024 NSW Tourism Awards. These awards serve as more than just accolades; they are a powerful platform to showcase the diverse offerings of Lord Howe Island, promoting future tourism and recognising Lord Howe as a premier Australian tourism destination.
