Anthony and Christian were thrilled to be awarded Champion, at the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW, Sydney Royal Distilled Spirits Show, for their Wolfe Rock Gin. The RAS of NSW has been judging Australian produce annually for an amazing 202 years! “This was an incredible accolade to receive, really putting Lord Howe Island Distilling Co on the map as a leader in Australian spirits, with our unique endemic botanicals.”
Named after the fateful shipwreck in 1837 just off Blinky Beach, Wolfe Rock Gin was one of the first products created by Anthony and Christian back in 2019 and they have been tweaking the recipe ever since. Most recently in their new research and development shed on Middle Beach Road. It seems to have done the job!
Whilst the Distillery on the Island has been in operation since December last year, this up-coming summer will be its first full season. Open weekly for gin tastings and now group gin-making sessions, spaces are limited, and bookings are essential via their website. Anthony guides you through the craft of distilling, from the fundamentals to botanical selection, safety and bottling for you to take home and share with your family and friends. A truly sublime way to spend the afternoon.
